Where it came from
Released as part of the Disney Villains Assemble series, this Pop! figure depicts Scar from the 1994 film The Lion King flanked by his hyena henchmen, Shenzi, Banzai, and Ed. The piece was designed to capture a moment of cinematic tension, serving as a dynamic centerpiece for the interconnecting display set that honors iconic antagonists from the Disney catalog.
The design team at Funko focused on recreating the signature menace of the character, ensuring the proportions matched the distinct aesthetic of the Pop! line while maintaining recognizable features of the animation. Upon its debut, the item was received as a significant addition for Disney collectors, particularly those focusing on the Villain-themed sub-lines which emphasize intricate environmental bases rather than standard singular figures.
