Scooby-Doo

The Funko Pop! Animation Scooby-Doo figure, numbered 843 in the series, was released as a special edition tie-in celebrating the enduring legacy of the Hanna-Barbera franchise. Originally debuting in 1969 with the animated series Scooby-Doo, Where Are You!, the character has remained a cultural staple for decades, transitioning through various iterations and revivals. Funko designed this figure to capture the signature aesthetic of the Great Dane, emphasizing his distinct coloration and endearing, slightly clumsy demeanor that has resonated with audiences for over fifty years.

The design process for the Scooby-Doo Pop! line prioritizes the characteristic vinyl aesthetic that Funko collectors recognize, blending the minimalist, large-eyed style of the brand with the recognizable physical traits of the character. By focusing on his classic pose and familiar expression, the design team sought to honor the nostalgic appeal of the original animation while fitting seamlessly into the contemporary trend of stylized character collectibles. Upon release, the figure was well-received by both long-time fans of the mystery-solving gang and broader pop culture collectors, solidifying its place within the Animation subset of the Pop! brand.
