Provenance

Where it came from

The Scott Pilgrim Pop! series, released by Funko to celebrate the cult classic film Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, draws direct inspiration from Bryan Lee O'Malley's original graphic novel series. This particular figure depicts the protagonist in his iconic Plumtree band t-shirt, referencing the real-life Canadian indie band that inspired the character's name. It reflects the film's unique aesthetic, which blends indie rock culture, video game tropes, and comic book visual language.

Designed within the signature Funko Pop! style, the figure simplifies the character's messy hair and layered wardrobe into the brand's standard vinyl aesthetic. Upon its release, it was met with significant enthusiasm from fans of the Edgar Wright-directed film, serving as a nostalgic touchstone for those who resonated with the series' blend of slacker humor and stylized action. The figure has since become a staple for collectors of media-based vinyl figures, representing the intersection of graphic novels and cinematic adaptation.
