Where it came from
Scourge, the primary antagonist of the 2023 film Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, was immortalized as a Funko Pop figure shortly before the movie's theatrical release. As the leader of the Terrorcons, the character was designed to represent a menacing, scavenger-like threat to the Autobots and Maximals. The figure captures his complex, jagged robotic aesthetic, reflecting the film's shift toward a grittier visual style for the franchise.
The figure was produced as part of the broader Pop! Movies line, which aims to provide accessible, stylized representations of cinematic icons. Funko’s design team leaned into the character’s dark metallic color palette and signature spiked chassis to differentiate him from the more traditional Autobot designs. Upon release, the figure was received primarily by collectors of the Transformers toy line as a recognizable addition to the expanded cinematic universe’s merchandise rollout.
