Where it came from
Secre Swallowtail, also known as Nero, originates from the long-running manga and anime series Black Clover, created by Yuki Tabata. The character is a pivotal figure in the narrative, serving as a mysterious anti-bird that accompanies the protagonist, Asta, before her true identity as a royal mage is revealed. This Funko Pop! figure, numbered 1721 in the Animation line, captures her human form, reflecting her role as a servant to the first Wizard King and her unique magic centered on sealing spells.
The figure was released as part of Funko's ongoing efforts to expand their coverage of modern shonen anime. Funko's design team typically interprets these characters by balancing their iconic illustrative style—characterized by large, solid-colored eyes and simplified geometric features—with the specific aesthetic details of the source material. For Secre, this involves replicating her distinctive headdress and the refined, often melancholic demeanor associated with her centuries-long existence as a bird.
