Where it came from
Shampoo is a central character in Rumiko Takahashi’s classic manga and anime series Ranma 1/2, first appearing in the late 1980s. As a warrior of the Amazon tribe, she provides a distinct blend of fierce martial arts prowess and comedic romantic pursuit, cementing her place as a fan favorite during the golden age of 1990s anime. Her design, featuring iconic odango hairstyle covers and traditional Chinese-inspired battle attire, translates into the Funko Pop aesthetic by emphasizing her signature pink hair and determined expression.
This Funko Pop! Animation figure, numbered 2028, was released as part of a long-awaited expansion of the Ranma 1/2 line. Funko designed this piece to capture the character's recognizable visual silhouette while maintaining the standardized proportions of the Pop! vinyl collection. The figure serves as a nostalgic tribute to the enduring influence of Takahashi’s work, appealing to both long-time collectors of the series and those who appreciate the historical significance of 1990s Japanese animation in global pop culture.
