Slimer [GITD] /2500

Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this Glow-in-the-Dark variant of Slimer, numbered 108, was produced to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the original 1984 Ghostbusters film. It fits within the broader tradition of Funko issuing limited-edition chase or variant figures to excite long-term collectors, specifically targeting those who appreciate the aesthetic of the iconic spectral character from the franchise.

The design draws upon the classic Slimer aesthetic, reimagining the character in the signature Funko stylized vinyl format with oversized eyes and a simplified, rounded physique. The inclusion of glow-in-the-dark material serves as a stylistic nod to the ectoplasmic nature of ghosts in the film series. While Funko Pop! designs are primarily the work of internal creative teams rather than singular celebrity illustrators, this piece was well-received by the collector community for its specific scarcity and the nostalgic appeal of the Ghostbusters license.
