Where it came from
Snake Face was released as part of the Funko Pop! Retro Toys line, specifically capturing the likeness of the villainous character from the Masters of the Universe franchise. Originally introduced in the 1980s as part of the second wave of Mattel action figures, the character was known for his unique action feature where his face would spring out to reveal snakes. Funko’s interpretation translates this retro aesthetic into their signature stylized vinyl form, appealing to collectors nostalgic for the original 1980s toy line.
The design maintains the classic green-scaled armor and hooded aesthetic of the vintage figure while adhering to Funko's standard Pop! proportions. As part of the broader Masters of the Universe collection, this item was created to celebrate the enduring legacy of the franchise's diverse rogue gallery. Upon release, it was received primarily by long-time fans of the series and toy collectors who appreciate the blend of modern vinyl manufacturing with the distinct, memorable character designs of eighties pop culture.
