Sora (Riding Heartless Wave)

Released as part of the Funko Pop! Rides line, this figure commemorates the character Sora from the Kingdom Hearts III video game. The series was designed to capture iconic moments from the franchise by pairing characters with their signature vehicles or companions, in this case depicting Sora atop his Heartless-inspired transport. The aesthetic follows Funko’s signature stylized design language, translating the complex, anime-influenced character model of Sora into the simplified, large-headed format consistent with the broader Pop! series.

This particular piece, numbered 55 in the Rides collection, emerged during the high-interest period following the long-awaited release of Kingdom Hearts III. The design process focused on maintaining the color palette and intricate details of the game's fantasy setting, balancing the character’s adventurous appearance with the rigid, vinyl structure of the collectible line. It was received as a bridge between the core gaming community and the vinyl toy market, serving as both a memento for fans of the Square Enix series and a display piece for Funko collectors.
