Spider-Man [GITD] /1000

Released in 2012 as a San Diego Comic-Con exclusive, this figure is part of the early Pop! Marvel series, designated as number 15 within the franchise. It was produced during a formative era for Funko, representing the company's push to solidify its presence in the collector market by creating limited-edition variants for major pop culture conventions. The glow-in-the-dark treatment was a stylistic choice intended to add a distinct, supernatural flair to the character, distinguishing it from the standard retail release of the same mold.

The figure features the design aesthetic popularized by Funko's signature oversized head and minimalist, stylized body, intended to evoke a playful yet iconic representation of the Marvel superhero. At the time of its release, the piece was aimed at the dedicated enthusiast crowd attending conventions, serving as a promotional anchor for the Marvel line. Its reception helped cement the trend of convention-exclusive variants becoming highly sought-after staples within the growing community of vinyl toy collectors.
