Star-Lord (Vol. 2) (Action Pose)

The Star-Lord (Action Pose) Funko Pop, numbered 209 in the Marvel series, was released in early 2017 to coincide with the theatrical debut of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. This figure depicts Peter Quill in his iconic long coat, mid-stride with his blasters drawn, capturing the film’s emphasis on high-energy, irreverent action sequences. It expanded the existing line of Guardians of the Galaxy figures by offering a more dynamic sculptural alternative to the standard standing poses prevalent in earlier releases.

Funko’s design team developed this iteration to reflect the specific aesthetic of the sequel, maintaining their signature stylized aesthetic—large square heads and simplified features—while integrating the character's updated costume details from the second film. The figure was well-received by collectors for its improved articulation and sense of movement compared to previous iterations, serving as a staple release that bridged the gap between casual movie merchandise and the dedicated Marvel Pop collector market.
