Where it came from
The Tank Zombie Pop! figure was released as part of the initial wave of Funko's The Walking Dead collection, numbered 36 within the Pop! Television series. The figure depicts the iconic 'bicycle girl' zombie's counterpart from the show's premiere episode, specifically the Walker discovered inside the tank where Rick Grimes takes refuge. Its production served to capitalize on the massive cultural surge of the AMC television adaptation, capturing the grim, decaying aesthetic of the series' practical makeup effects in the brand's signature stylized form.
The design emphasizes the grotesque features of the source material, featuring a weathered, flesh-toned palette and the distinct military attire worn by the character in the series. Funko's design team prioritized these recognizable details to differentiate the figure from generic undead offerings. Upon its release, it became a foundational piece for collectors of television memorabilia, praised for its faithful translation of a brief but pivotal antagonist into the miniature vinyl medium.
