Where it came from
Released as part of the Funko Pop! Movies line, this figure represents Tanya Mousekewitz, a central character from the 1986 animated classic An American Tail. The film, directed by Don Bluth and produced by Steven Spielberg, was a significant milestone in animation history, celebrated for its emotional depth and its portrayal of the immigrant experience through the eyes of a mouse family seeking safety in America.
The figure design mirrors the aesthetic of the 1980s animated character, capturing Tanya's signature red hair bow and modest dress. Funko’s interpretation of the character leans into the stylized vinyl proportions common to the Pop! series, aiming to evoke nostalgia for the hand-drawn animation style of the original film. It serves as a commemorative piece for fans of the enduring Don Bluth aesthetic.
