Where it came from
The High Evolutionary Pop! figure, numbered 1289 in the Marvel series, was produced by Funko to coincide with the 2023 release of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. This character, a complex geneticist obsessed with creating a perfect society, serves as the primary antagonist in the film. The design translates the character’s ornate, metallic-clad cinematic appearance into the stylized, large-headed aesthetic characteristic of the Funko brand, capturing his distinct mask and regal yet menacing posture.
The figure emerged as part of a wider wave of merchandise designed to support the final installment of James Gunn’s Guardians trilogy. Created by Funko’s in-house design team, the sculpt focuses on the intricate detailing of the character's armor, which reflects the high-fantasy sci-fi aesthetic favored by the film's production designers. It was received by the collecting community as a standard release within the Marvel line, noted primarily for its relevance to the film's narrative conclusion.
