Where it came from
Released in 2012 as part of the Funko Pop! Heroes line, this figure captures the iconic opening heist sequence from Christopher Nolan’s 2008 film The Dark Knight. The figure depicts the Joker wearing his clown mask pushed up, as seen during the bank robbery scene, reflecting the character’s calculated chaos and his initial introduction to the audience in the film's gritty, realistic depiction of Gotham City.
The design was created under Funko’s stylized aesthetic, which balances simplified proportions with specific cinematic details like the character's signature green hair and purple suit. As the 37th entry in the Heroes series, it quickly became a sought-after piece for fans of the trilogy, particularly because it immortalizes one of the most recognizable scenes in modern comic book cinema, leading to its reputation as a centerpiece for collectors of The Dark Knight merchandise.
