Where it came from
Thumper, released as part of the initial wave of Disney Pop! figures, represents the iconic rabbit from the 1942 animated classic Bambi. Designed by the Funko team as part of their broader Pop! Disney line, this figure captures Thumper’s signature inquisitive expression and stance. The piece fits into the aesthetic established by the early Funko aesthetic, which emphasizes oversized heads, large black eyes, and simplified, recognizable features from classic animated properties.
The figure serves as a nostalgic tribute to one of Disney's most beloved supporting characters, known for his enthusiastic foot-thumping and gentle friendship with Bambi. Upon its release, it became a staple for collectors focusing on Disney animation history. The design choice to keep the detailing minimal allows it to function as a stylized interpretation of a character that has remained culturally significant for generations, reflecting Funko's strategy of revisiting classic films to appeal to long-time Disney fans.
