Where it came from
Thumper is a central character from the 1942 Disney animated classic Bambi, renowned for his upbeat nature and rhythmic foot-tapping. This Pop! vinyl figure, numbered 1186, was released as part of the ongoing Pop! Disney series, which translates iconic characters into the stylized, large-headed aesthetic characteristic of Funko’s design language. The figure aims to capture the character's familiar charm, focusing on his signature oversized ears and friendly expression to resonate with long-time fans of the film.
The character design for Thumper was originally developed by Disney animators during the production of Bambi to serve as a playful, energetic foil to the film’s more solemn themes. Funko’s adaptation draws directly from this historical visual source, stripping away the complex animation lines to create a simplified, collectible form. Since its introduction, this figure has been well-received by collectors who value the intersection of classic animation history and contemporary toy design.
