Where it came from
Touché Turtle was released as part of the Funko Pop! Animation line, numbered 170 in the series, celebrating the 1962 Hanna-Barbera television cartoon Touche Turtle and Dum Dum. The character, a swashbuckling turtle who served as a hero for hire, was originally created by Joe Barbera and William Hanna during the height of their studio's dominance in televised animation. The figure captures the character's distinct feathered hat and rapier, reflecting the whimsical, fast-paced aesthetic that defined the studio's early sixties output.
The design of this Pop! figure adheres to Funko's signature minimalist vinyl style, featuring an enlarged head and simplified proportions while retaining the key visual markers of the original cartoon character. As part of a wave of figures focusing on classic Hanna-Barbera intellectual properties, the release was aimed at nostalgia-driven collectors and animation enthusiasts. The reception was largely defined by its appeal to fans of mid-century animation, marking it as a niche but notable entry within the broader Animation catalog.
