Where it came from
The Tula figure is part of the Pop! Around the World series, a line launched by Funko to celebrate international cultures and traditions through its signature stylized aesthetic. Released as the second entry in the series, the figure depicts Tula, a character designed to represent Mexican cultural heritage, specifically drawing inspiration from traditional festive attire and the symbolism associated with the vibrant celebrations found throughout the region.
The design team at Funko focused on incorporating intricate details such as colorful floral patterns and traditional dress elements to honor the source inspiration. As part of a series intended to promote global representation within the Pop! format, the figure was generally well-received by collectors who prioritize the cultural storytelling aspect of the line, marking a departure from the typical film or television-based releases that characterize the broader brand.
