Where it came from
Vel Sartha was introduced as a pivotal character in the 2022 Disney+ series Andor, which explores the formation of the Rebel Alliance. Funko released this vinyl figure as part of the Pop! Star Wars line, numbered 554, to coincide with the show's gritty, grounded aesthetic. The figure portrays Vel in her utilitarian field attire, reflecting the series' focus on the harsh realities of espionage and rebellion rather than the fantastical elements of traditional Jedi lore.
The design of this piece emphasizes the minimalist, functional costume design established by the show’s production team to fit the undercover nature of Vel’s mission on Aldhani. Funko’s sculptors aimed to capture her stern demeanor and specific silhouette, maintaining the brand's signature stylized proportions while staying true to the muted, earth-toned color palette of the series. The figure has been generally well-received by collectors who prioritize the nuanced, darker storytelling of the Andor era.
