Where it came from
Vigo the Carpathian, also known as Vigo the Cruel, is a central antagonist from the 1989 film Ghostbusters II. The Funko Pop figure, numbered 1886 in the Pop! Movies line, commemorates the character's iconic appearance within the haunted painting that serves as his vessel. The figure captures his regal, sinister aesthetic, complete with his dark robes and the distinctive, foreboding expression associated with the portrait's malevolent influence on the Manhattan Museum of Art.
The design of this collectible emphasizes the character's cinematic history as a 16th-century sorcerer and tyrant. Funko's designers focused on replicating the textures of the painting's frame and the specific color palette of the film's source material to satisfy franchise fans. As part of the broader Ghostbusters II collection, the item was released to coincide with ongoing interest in the cult classic sequel, balancing the character's historical film significance with the stylized, oversized aesthetic that defines the Pop! series.
