Where it came from
The Virgo Shun figure is part of the Pop! Animation series by Funko, released to commemorate the classic anime Saint Seiya: Knights of the Zodiac. In the series lore, Shun, typically the Bronze Saint of Andromeda, is depicted here wearing the Gold Cloth of Virgo, a pivotal transformation that occurs during the Hades arc when he inherits the armor from Shaka. The design seeks to translate Masami Kurumada’s intricate, flowing manga aesthetic into Funko's signature stylized, oversized-head silhouette.
This collectible was produced to celebrate the enduring popularity of the Saint Seiya franchise, which has maintained a dedicated global following since its debut in the 1980s. Like many figures in the Animation line, it serves as a bridge between nostalgia for 90s television and modern toy culture. It has been generally well-received by fans of the series for capturing the distinct ornate details of the Virgo armor, standing as a representative piece for collectors focused on the Knights of the Zodiac subset.
