Will

Released in 2017 as part of the Funko Pop! 8-Bit line, the Will Byers figure was created to celebrate the aesthetic of Netflix's Stranger Things. The design choice to render the character in a stylized, pixelated format was a deliberate homage to the 1980s video game era, which serves as a central atmospheric pillar for the television series. This release arrived during the peak of the show's initial cultural explosion, allowing fans to own a piece of merchandise that bridged the gap between modern television fandom and classic 8-bit gaming culture.

The figure features Will Byers in his iconic Season 1 attire, specifically his red vest and bowl-cut hairstyle, captured through rigid, blocky geometry intended to mimic the limitations of early arcade graphics. Funko collaborated with the creators of the show to ensure that the simplified design remained recognizable despite the low-resolution visual language. Upon its debut, the line was generally well-received by collectors who appreciated the experimental departure from the standard Funko Pop! silhouette, viewing it as a fitting tribute to the nostalgia-heavy tone of the series.
