Winter Soldier (Unmasked)

Released in 2014 as part of the Funko Pop! Marvel line, this figure was produced to coincide with the theatrical release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier. As number 43 in the Marvel series, it depicts the character Bucky Barnes in his post-brainwashing persona, specifically featuring the unmasked variant that highlights the character's transition from his past as a hero to his role as an antagonist. The figure captures the tactical aesthetic of the film, translating the character's gritty, modern combat gear into the stylized, large-headed vinyl format that defined the brand's rapid growth in the mid-2010s.

The design follows the standard Pop! aesthetic, focusing on the character's iconic metallic arm and tactical dark ensemble to differentiate him from other figures in the Marvel collection. At the time of its debut, the line was rapidly expanding to capture the fervor surrounding the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Winter Soldier figure was well-received by collectors for its role in filling out the antagonist roster of the Captain America series. It remains a staple for fans of the 'Phase Two' era of Marvel films.
