Where it came from
The Wolverine & Sabertooth 2-pack was released as part of the Marvel 50 Years collection, a commemorative line celebrating the golden anniversary of Wolverine’s first appearance in Incredible Hulk #181 in 1974. Funko designed this set to highlight the decades-long rivalry between Logan and Victor Creed, utilizing character sculpts that reflect their iconic comic book costumes and classic confrontations within the X-Men mythos.
The design team at Funko focused on capturing the visceral intensity of the two characters, positioning them in dynamic poses that contrast Wolverine’s focused aggression with Sabertooth’s predatory nature. As part of a larger anniversary wave, the set was marketed to long-time comic enthusiasts and Pop collectors, receiving a positive reception for its direct homage to the cover art and historical legacy of the two characters.
