Where it came from
The Xolo Pop! figure was released as part of Funko's 'Dia de los Muertos' collection, which draws inspiration from the cultural traditions and imagery associated with the Mexican holiday. The figure features the iconic Xoloitzcuintli, a hairless dog breed deeply rooted in Mexican history and mythology, often regarded as a guide for spirits in the afterlife. Its design incorporates vibrant, festive patterns typical of the artistic motifs found in celebrations of the holiday.
Funko developed this line to honor the aesthetic and symbolic significance of Dia de los Muertos. By translating the traditional skeletal and floral designs into their signature stylized vinyl form, the company aimed to offer a respectful and colorful representation of the cultural observance. The figure received attention for its thematic detail, serving as a decorative tribute to both the breed and the holiday's enduring legacy.
