Where it came from
Yzma, the iconic antagonist from the 2000 Disney film The Emperor's New Groove, was immortalized in Funko's Pop! Disney line as number 1122. Released to capture the eccentric and memorable villainy of the character, the design highlights her signature oversized feathered headdress and dramatic, long-lashed gaze, elements originally brought to life by animators during the film's production to reflect her volatile and fashion-obsessed personality.
The figure reflects the broader stylistic goals of the Funko Pop! aesthetic, which prioritizes simplified, recognizable silhouettes. By focusing on her exaggerated proportions and iconic purple gown, the design pays homage to Eartha Kitt's legendary vocal performance, which defined the character's reception as one of the most beloved and quoted antagonists in the Disney pantheon. The piece is widely regarded by collectors as a faithful representation of the studio's turn-of-the-century experimental animation style.
