Where it came from
Yusuke Urameshi in his Mazoku or Demon form was released as part of the Pop! Animation series by Funko to celebrate the enduring legacy of Yoshihiro Togashi’s Yu Yu Hakusho. The figure captures the protagonist’s pivotal transformation during the Makai Tournament arc, where his heritage as the descendant of the demon king Raizen is fully awakened. By depicting Yusuke with his long flowing hair and demonic markings, the design team aimed to visualize the dramatic shift in his character from a human spirit detective to a powerful supernatural entity.
The figure follows the standardized Funko aesthetic, utilizing a stylized vinyl format that emphasizes the character’s aggressive posture and signature color palette from the series' climactic conclusion. Released as part of a wave that expanded the franchise's representation in the Pop! line, the item received positive attention from fans of the 1990s anime for successfully translating the intricate details of Yusuke’s transformed state into a compact, collectible form.
