Where it came from
The Zoltar figure, numbered 796 in the Funko Pop! Movies line, is based on the iconic fortune-telling machine featured in the 1988 film Big. The design faithfully recreates the machine's distinctive aesthetic, capturing the character’s classic turban, ornate cape, and the illuminated fortune card dispenser that serves as a central plot device in the movie’s most memorable scene.
This collectible was released as part of Funko's effort to commemorate classic cinematic moments. The design process focused on translating the machine's uncanny, slightly eerie presence into the brand's signature stylized form. It was received warmly by collectors and film enthusiasts who appreciate the nostalgia of the 1980s and the specific whimsy associated with the film's magical premise.
