Zombie Gambit [GITD]

Zombie Gambit, released as figure number 793 in the Funko Pop Marvel Zombies line, draws its inspiration from the Marvel Zombies comic series written by Robert Kirkman. This iteration reimagines the X-Men's kinetic energy-wielding hero as an undead entity, capturing the macabre aesthetic that defined the series. The Glow-in-the-Dark (GITD) variant serves as a chase-style or specialized release, utilizing luminescent materials to highlight the character's decaying features and signature glowing eyes, a design choice intended to emphasize the supernatural horror elements of the source material.

The broader Marvel Zombies Pop series represents a cultural intersection between mainstream superhero lore and the popularity of zombie-themed horror. Designed by the Funko creative team, the figures are crafted to maintain the characteristic vinyl aesthetic while incorporating visceral details like exposed bone and tattered attire. Upon release, the series received significant attention from collectors who bridge the gap between traditional comic book fandom and the vinyl toy hobby, cementing the figure as a staple for fans of the darker, alternative-universe takes on established Marvel icons.
