Auto Workshop

The Auto Workshop, released as set 6369 in 1985, belongs to the classic Lego Town theme, which served as a cornerstone of the company's product lineup throughout the 1980s. Designed during a period when Lego focused on modular city-building, the set was created to provide a functional service station for the burgeoning collection of minifigure-scale vehicles. It captures the aesthetic of mid-century automotive repair shops, featuring a simple open-bay structure, a sliding garage door, and a dedicated service lift that reflected the brand's commitment to interactive play features.

The design of the 6369 set is emblematic of the early Town era, prioritizing clean lines, a primary-color palette, and utilitarian construction. It was conceptualized by the internal design team in Billund to integrate seamlessly with other contemporary road plates and vehicle sets. Upon its release, it was well-received by the target audience for its inclusion of both a mechanic and a driver minifigure, providing a complete scene for creative roleplay that remained a staple in many childhood collections for years afterward.
