Beach Glamping

Released in 2022 as part of the LEGO Friends theme, the Beach Glamping set (41700-1) reflects a shift in the product line toward more mature, detailed architectural designs. The set was created to provide a realistic, modern glamping experience, moving away from traditional camping tropes to focus on luxury amenities like a canvas-style tent, a jetty for the included boat, and a deck with a stove. This design strategy sought to balance the familiar bright, pastel aesthetic of Heartlake City with a more sophisticated building experience intended to appeal to older children and adult collectors alike.

The set was designed by the LEGO Group's internal development team during a period where the Friends theme began experimenting with more complex structural builds. By integrating features such as a functional rotating wind turbine and a separate bathroom block, the designers aimed to foster narrative-driven play centered on sustainability and outdoor living. Upon its release, the set was noted for its departure from the modular, single-building structures common in early Friends sets, garnering positive feedback for its cohesive design and the inclusion of detailed interior accessories.
