Where it came from
Released in 2016 as part of the Lego Creator Expert series, set 10253 was designed to capture the architectural grandeur of the Elizabeth Tower and the adjacent Palace of Westminster in London. The set was conceived to appeal to adult builders through its high piece count and focus on historical accuracy, representing a significant milestone in Lego's push into the complex, display-oriented adult market.
The model was designed by Lego master builder Jamie Berard, who utilized advanced building techniques to recreate the intricate Gothic Revival details of the original landmark. Upon its release, the set was widely praised by the collector community for its technical sophistication and aesthetic fidelity, standing as one of the most detailed representations of the landmark produced by the company to date.
