Where it came from
Released in 2019 as part of the Lego Ninjago: Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu line, the Blizzard Samurai serves as a villainous troop builder within the larger Ice Chapter of the series. This set was designed to capture the aesthetic of the Blizzard Army, a group of warriors resurrected by the antagonist Vex using the Scroll of Forbidden Spinjitzu to serve the Ice Emperor.
The figure features a distinct translucent light-blue color palette intended to represent frozen ice, accented by dark armor and a specialized samurai helmet mold. The design reflects the Ninjago team's ongoing commitment to evolving character aesthetics through translucent plastic elements, a technique that was well-received by fans for its ability to convey supernatural, elemental themes within the compact format of a minifigure.
