Where it came from
The Boba Fett magnet, part of set 853116-1, was released by the LEGO Group around 2011 as part of a series of Star Wars character magnets. These items were designed to serve as collectible desk or refrigerator accessories, featuring a standard minifigure mounted onto a plastic base with an integrated magnet on the reverse side. The design mirrors the aesthetic of the LEGO Star Wars minifigures prevalent during that era, capturing the iconic Mandalorian armor with detailed printing on the torso and helmet.
This specific iteration of the character is highly notable among long-term collectors because the minifigure components were glued to the magnet base. This manufacturing choice was intended to prevent the loss of small parts in a household setting, though it often sparked debate within the community regarding the playability and display flexibility of the pieces. Despite the unconventional assembly, the item remains a sought-after piece for enthusiasts of both Star Wars memorabilia and early 2010s LEGO merchandise.
