Where it came from
Released in 2002 as part of the first wave of Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones merchandise, the Bounty Hunter Pursuit set captures the high-speed chase through the Coruscant cityscape. The set was designed to reflect the transition from the original trilogy sets to the prequel era, focusing on the sleek aesthetics of Anakin Skywalker's speeder and Zam Wesell's airspeeder, providing builders with an opportunity to recreate the film's neon-lit urban pursuit.
The design of the set focuses on the contrasting color palettes of the two vehicles, utilizing the distinctive dark red and yellow schemes of the era. It introduced specialized canopy pieces and minifigure head designs that were intended to capture the likenesses of Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker, and the bounty hunter Zam Wesell, who features a unique reversible face print that was relatively innovative for LEGO designs at the time.
