Where it came from
The Bounty Hunter Assault Gunship, released in 2011 as set 20021, is a promotional mini-scale model inspired by the vehicle seen in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. Designed as part of the LEGO Star Wars theme, this set was distributed primarily through promotional events and as a polybag release, intended to offer a compact, buildable representation of the vessel used by bounty hunters like Cad Bane.
The ship itself is based on the Ginivex-class starfighter, a craft characterized by its unique curved solar sail wings and aggressive silhouette. In the context of the series, the vessel was a staple for mercenaries operating in the Outer Rim. The LEGO design focuses on capturing the distinct crescent shape and rotating wing mechanism using a minimal piece count, a common hallmark of the smaller promotional sets released during this era of the theme.
