Where it came from
BrickJournal, founded by Joe Meno, emerged in the mid-2000s as a vital resource for the adult fan of LEGO (AFOL) community. Issue 22, released in the early 2010s, fits into the magazine’s ongoing mission to bridge the gap between amateur builders and professional designers by showcasing complex MOCs (My Own Creations) and offering deep dives into specific construction techniques that were rarely documented in mainstream publications at the time.
The editorial focus of this specific issue reflects the magazine's commitment to diverse building themes and community-driven content. Like other issues in the series, the design and layout are centered on high-quality photography and instructional guides intended to inspire enthusiasts. It was received by the hobbyist community as a reliable educational tool that elevated the standard of custom building by highlighting the work of talented, non-commercial contributors alongside established industry figures.
