Where it came from
BrickJournal issue 25 was published in 2013 as part of a long-running magazine series dedicated to the adult fan of LEGO hobby. The publication focuses on documenting custom building techniques, interviews with professional artists, and community events, serving as a chronicle of the creative evolution within the LEGO fan ecosystem. This specific issue sought to highlight the intersection of brick-building and broader pop culture, reflecting the magazine’s ongoing mission to elevate amateur construction into a recognized form of artistic expression.
The editorial direction for BrickJournal has been maintained by Joe Meno, who founded the magazine to provide a sophisticated space for enthusiasts beyond the manufacturer's own promotional materials. The design and layout prioritize visual inspiration, featuring high-quality photography of MOCs (My Own Creations) and detailed tutorials. As a niche periodical, it is respected within the enthusiast community for its commitment to archival-quality documentation and its role in connecting builders worldwide through shared knowledge and technical critique.
