Where it came from
Released in 2020 as part of the Lego Classic line, the Bricks and Lights set (11009-1) was designed to encourage open-ended creativity by incorporating light bricks into a building experience. The set provides an assortment of colorful bricks alongside specific instructions to build a variety of models, such as a windmill, a toy shop, and a bird, all featuring light-up elements that emphasize the interplay between structural design and illumination.
The design philosophy behind this set focuses on accessibility and playability, catering to builders of all skill levels by offering both guided instructions and inspiration for free-form construction. As a representative of the broader Lego Classic series, it functions less as a complex display model and more as a foundational toolkit meant to integrate seamlessly with existing collections, ensuring that the light-brick mechanism serves as a functional enhancement to the user's own imaginative creations.
