Where it came from
The LEGO City Burger Truck, set 60404-1, was released in early 2024 as part of the ongoing City sub-theme centered on urban infrastructure and service vehicles. This set reflects the brand's long-standing tradition of translating everyday adult professions into interactive, miniature play experiences. It captures the modern trend of mobile food commerce, replacing the classic, static hot dog stand with a more dynamic, modern aesthetic that fits into contemporary city layouts.
The design emphasizes accessibility and modularity, featuring a detachable truck cab and a food preparation area equipped with a detailed service window and a roof-mounted burger sign. Designed to be compatible with other vehicles in the City line, the set focuses on accessible building techniques suitable for younger builders while maintaining the thematic consistency required by adult collectors of the City range. It was introduced to bridge the gap between simple vehicle sets and more complex modular buildings, receiving recognition for its vibrant color palette and focus on character-driven play.
