Car and Boat Vacation Trailer

The 2626-1 Car and Boat Vacation Trailer was released in the late 1990s as part of the Lego Duplo theme. Designed for younger children, this set reflects the brand’s focus on encouraging open-ended imaginative play by featuring durable, chunky components that were easy for toddlers to manipulate. The set was part of a broader push to introduce realistic travel and outdoor recreational vehicles into the Duplo line, providing a tangible way for children to engage in role-play scenarios involving family vacations and leisure activities.

The design of the set focuses on modularity and compatibility with other Duplo bricks. By including both a car and a detachable boat trailer, the set aimed to introduce concepts of cause-and-effect and physical coordination. The aesthetic features the vibrant primary colors characteristic of the era’s Duplo design language. While individual design credits for specific Duplo sets of this period are rarely publicized, the set remains representative of the transition toward more complex, multi-vehicle play experiences within the Duplo ecosystem.
