Where it came from
Released by the LEGO Group in 2024 as part of the City sub-theme centered on vehicle transportation, the Car Transporter set 60408 was designed to provide a realistic play experience for younger builders. The set reflects the brand's long-standing tradition of recreating industrial service vehicles, focusing on the functionality of a double-decker carrier capable of loading and unloading multiple smaller vehicles via a hydraulic ramp system.
The design emphasizes mechanical playability and modular integration with other vehicles in the City line. It features a cab-over-engine style tractor unit paired with an articulated trailer, a hallmark of modern heavy transport aesthetics. Like much of the contemporary City range, the set was developed to balance structural sturdiness with the intricate details required for active play, receiving positive feedback from the community for its accurate representation of logistical machinery.
