Where it came from
The Carpenter is a minifigure from the Series 13 Collectible Minifigures line, released by the LEGO Group in early 2015. This series was designed as a blind-bagged collection to encourage trading and discovery, featuring a diverse array of characters ranging from historical archetypes to modern professions. The Carpenter reflects the brand's long-standing tradition of highlighting vocational roles within its city-themed sets, providing builders with a classic construction-themed figure that fits into a wider architectural play environment.
The figure features a distinct tan-colored hat and a specialized saw accessory, emphasizing the brand's attention to professional detail and functional storytelling. Like other figures in the series, the design was handled by the internal LEGO team, who aimed for a blend of functional utility and whimsical characterization that has become a hallmark of the Collectible Minifigure line. It was generally well-received by the collector community for its inclusion of unique parts, such as the printed lumber piece, which enhanced the level of detail available for city-building layouts.
