Where it came from
The Cities of Wonders series emerged as a tribute to iconic architectural landmarks across Asia, aiming to capture the structural complexity and cultural significance of urban development in the late 20th and early 21st centuries. The Taipei 85 Building model, designated as COWT-4, was produced to celebrate the distinct post-modern style of the skyscraper, which was once the tallest building in the world upon its completion. It was designed to highlight the building's signature tiered aesthetic and its unique influence on the skyline of Kaohsiung.
The design team focused on translating the building's tapering, multi-sectioned form into a compact, displayable format suitable for architectural enthusiasts. By emphasizing the verticality and the specific angular geometry of the original structure, the creators sought to provide a faithful representation of its engineering. Upon release, the item was generally received as a thoughtful addition for those interested in global cityscapes and contemporary architectural milestones.
