Coast Guard Helicopter

Released in 2013 as part of the LEGO City Coast Guard subtheme, this set was designed to capture the high-stakes appeal of maritime rescue operations. It reflects the era's focus on dynamic play features, centering on a rescue helicopter with a functioning winch and a small rescue craft. The design leans into a clean, functional aesthetic characteristic of the broader City line, prioritizing playability and durability for a younger demographic.

The set was conceived by the LEGO design team to expand the narrative possibilities of the City theme beyond land-based emergency services. It utilizes a color palette of orange, white, and blue, which became a signature look for LEGO rescue vehicles of the early 2010s. Upon release, it was well-received by fans and critics alike for its effective use of specialized parts to create a recognizable and sturdy aircraft, remaining a staple example of the City theme's commitment to public service roleplay.
