Where it came from
Cole (71019-8) is a minifigure released in 2017 as part of The LEGO Ninjago Movie Collectible Minifigure Series. This series was designed to coincide with the theatrical release of the film, providing fans with character variants that captured the specific aesthetic updates made for the cinematic adaptation. The Ninjago theme itself, which debuted in 2011, centers on a group of ninja heroes, and this particular iteration features Cole in his specialized movie-inspired attire, complete with unique printing and accessories.
The design of these minifigures was led by the LEGO Group's internal design team, who aimed to translate the more complex, textured look of the digital film characters into the constraints of the classic minifigure form. Critics and fans generally praised the series for its level of detail, particularly the intricate torso and leg printing. As a blind-bagged set, it became a staple for collectors seeking complete character rosters, representing a significant moment in the intersection of long-running building toy lines and modern animation media.
