Where it came from
Released in 2015, the Titanium Dragon was a centerpiece of the Ninjago theme's 'Tournament of Elements' sub-theme. The set was designed to capture a pivotal moment in the series where Zane, the Titanium Ninja, reclaims his physical form and bonds with his elemental dragon. This iteration of the dragon reflects the transition to the Titanium aesthetic, moving away from the organic, scaled look of earlier dragons toward a sleek, armored, and futuristic design.
The model was designed with articulated wings and a poseable tail, emphasizing playability and structural stability. The color palette centers on silver and white, distinguishing it from previous elemental dragons. It was received favorably by the community for its unique color scheme and the inclusion of exclusive minifigures like Zane and Clouse, solidifying its place as a representative set for the mid-2010s era of Ninjago design.
