Where it came from
Released in 2014 as part of the Lego City Police subtheme, the Crook Pursuit set was designed to offer an accessible entry point into the modular world of Lego urban construction. It serves as a quintessential example of the City line’s focus on high-action play scenarios, pairing a compact police motorcycle with a getaway vehicle to encourage interactive chases for younger builders.
The set was conceptualized by the internal Lego design team in Billund to emphasize movement and storytelling within a small footprint. By focusing on the pursuit dynamic, the designers sought to deliver a complete narrative experience through minimal part counts. It was received as a reliable staple of the 2014 catalog, noted by enthusiasts for its efficient use of pieces and its role in populating the ever-expanding Lego City layout.
