Where it came from
This minifigure of Dorothy Gale and her companion Toto was released in 2019 as part of the LEGO Collectible Minifigures series themed around The LEGO Movie 2. The set was created to commemorate the iconic characters from the 1939 film The Wizard of Oz, representing a unique crossover between the classic cinematic property and the stylized brick-built aesthetic of the LEGO franchise.
The design of the figure features Dorothy in her signature blue gingham dress, complete with ruby slippers and a molded element for Toto. It was crafted by the LEGO design team to capture the nostalgic essence of the character while adhering to the standard minifigure scale, and it was widely received by collectors as a faithful and charming tribute to the source material.
